Windows 7 Laptop Battery Problems
Microsoft has started investigating the various battery problems faced by users on their Windows 7 Notebooks.
Windows 7 users get the message ”Consider replacing your battery. There is a problem with your battery, so your computer might shut down suddenly.” even though the battery is fully charged. It is still not clear as whether this is a simple mis-reporting my the OS or there is some hardware related issue.
Some of the users have noticed that the battery life is indeed affected permanently as the they have noticed that the battery in degraded condition even when they switch over to another OS.
As per the Microsoft technet forums the problem appears to be there since the Windows 7 RC release
We are investigating this issue in conjunction with our hardware partners, which appears to be related to system firmware. We are working with our partners to determine the root cause and will update the forum with information and guidance as it becomes available.
